Dr. John Wietholder and his wife Trisha grew up in west-central Illinois, near Quincy. They were married in 2005 and have two children, Lucas (10) and Ellie (7).
Dr. Wietholder received his bachelor’s degree from Quincy University, then enlisted in the U.S. Army. While serving in the Army, Dr. Wietholder obtained his master’s degree. Shortly thereafter, he attended dental school at Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine, graduating Cum Laude in 2011. Dr. Wietholder then completed a one-year residency in general dentistry with the Army at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. He deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan and completed his active duty service recently after 10 years. He continues to serve in the U.S. Army Reserves.
During his dental training, Dr. Wietholder received additional education in dental implants, orthodontics (braces), wisdom teeth, and dental sleep medicine to treat obstructive sleep apnea.
His son, Lucas, enjoys hunting and playing sports, especially baseball. Ellie, his daughter, likes art and gymnastics. When Dr. Wietholder is not busy with his children’s activities, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and St. Louis Cardinal’s baseball.
Dr. Wietholder is a member of the Knights of Columbus, Columbia Area Dental Society, and Academy of General Dentistry.
Trisha is married to Dr Wietholder. They have two children, Lucas and Ellie. Mrs. Wietholder graduated from Illinois State University in 2003 with a BS in Marketing and later from Fayetteville State University in North Carolina with her K-6 Elementary Education certification in 2006.
Trisha is the practice manager for the office. She markets the practice, performs accounting duties and fills in at the front desk when needed. Mrs. Wietholder is also a member of Beulah Ralph Elementary PTA, Women’s Network through Columbia Chamber of Commerce and numerous other organizations.
When she is not shuttling kids to and from practice and events, she enjoys golf, sewing, volunteering, and reading a good book.
Carman has 34 years of experience in dentistry. She came from a military family and was very fortunate to live in several places. She was born in Hawaii and lived in Alaska and Germany, to name a few. Centralia, MO is where she calls home today.
Family time is important with two adult children and five grandchildren. Carman spends her spare time with her grandchildren, making special memories and gardening.
Kiley came into dental hygiene after being in the business world for a few years as a cost analyst and construction scheduler. She is originally from Rogersville, MO, near Springfield.
Kiley is married to her husband of two years, Ben, and they are expecting their first child in May of 2017. They love to travel; often to Springfield or KC to visit family or a longer road trip to the mountains, beach, or somewhere in between.
Kiley and her husband are always on the go. She enjoys cooking, working out, playing basketball, reading, and photography.
Tara has over seven years of experience as a hygienist and previous experience as a dental assistant. Tara has resided in Prairie Home, MO her entire life.
Her husband of six years, Matt, is a farmer with row crops and cattle. They have two kids and enjoy spending time outdoors. She and her family enjoy being outside from sun-up to sun-down, working on the farm, fishing, and making memories.
Melissa has been in the dental field for 16 years and just recently completed the Expanded Function Restorative II course.
Melissa has lived several places including Oklahoma, Arkansas, Illinois, Virginia, and Puerto Rico. Now she considers Ashland, MO home. Melissa recently became a grandma in March 2017 to a beautiful baby girl!
In her spare time, Melissa can be found making pizza at Manzo's Wood Fired Pizza and cuddling her grandbaby.
Claira is a graduate from Dakota County Technical College in MN in 2014. Before joining our team, Claira worked as a pediatric assistant for 3 years.
Claira is a Midwest Girl, she was born in Illinois, lived in Missouri and Minnesota, before landing in Hallsville, MO in 2014. She lives with her fiancé Kaleb and their adorable puppy Jolie.
You can find her doing anything outdoors, going on motorcycle rides with Kaleb, cooking and cheering on the MIZZOU Tigers!
Claire works to ensure our instruments are ready for each visit and also assists Dr. Wietholder. Claire has been working at our office for two years.
She is a Columbia native and attended Rock Bridge High School. Volunteering is a passion of hers. She also enjoys spending time with her family, especially her nephew, and Sunday family dinners.
